New Petroleum Policy: 100 wells to be dug this year ISLAMABAD: The new petroleum policy envisages provision of surplus production directly to the provinces instead of the federation with a view to bring prosperity in areas where oil and gas are extracted.

This was stated by Advisor for Energy Dr. Asim Hussain at a news conference here on Friday.

He said the oil companies will set up a special fund for speeding up activities for exploration of oil and gas. This year 100 new wells will be dug for exploration of oil and gas, he added.

Asim Hussain said China is investing 5 billion dollars in energy sector of Pakistan.
